There are so many...This is an interesting question. There are so many brands and it seems like every parts store sells different brands. When I'm deciding which parts to buy there are several things I consider.
The first thing I think about is "how important is the quality of the part?" For some parts it doesn't matter that much (in most cases) whether the part is the best quality or not that great of quality. One example of this would be u-joints. Unless you are driving your truck under extreme conditions a good general brand of u-joint should work just fine. Other times you want to make sure you have the best quality that you can buy. A good example of this would be a timing belt. After doing all the work to get to the belt and the potential for belt breakage to ruin an engine I usually choose a more expensive part.
Another thing that I consider is the warranty. Usually parts that cost more will have a better warranty. Sometimes this is important and other times it is not as important.
If you are trying to build a relationship with a parts store (which I recommend because once they get to know you they will generally treat you better) then you should find a brand that they recommend that fits with your goals.
I've gotten to the point where I don't really care about brands (there are some exceptions). The reason for this is because they are most likely made all by the same company anyway, they just slap a different label on them for the different parts stores.
The main things that I look at are price and warranty. Most of the time there are several grades of a specific part. I usually go for the middle grade of part, unless I need something that I need the best quality possible. This usually results in a fairly good quality part for a decent price.
http://jdmperformanceparts.co.ukAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15676423548193209246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3521318064826848712.post-50399077563002563092013-12-21T03:04:52.809-06:002013-12-21T03:04:52.809-06:00This is the age of modern science.
